Tuesday, September 1st, 2026. Studio Uncle Fish, Irmo, South Carolina.
Woke naturally in my van, parked behind the glass shop as I have been for the last few months. About 715am. Calm and cool – perhaps 72° – and just asking for coffee and Fugees!
Foldgers and YouTube Music sees me into another day. Should be an excellent bit of life. Day 2!
Agreements
In a progressive future, there will be a link to the agreements document here.
In one description, day two is my second day of trying to acknowledge very specific agreements that I’ve made with the future of my life. Seems rather complex.
In another description, today is my second day without cigarettes. So, that’s good.
I put the wrong foot forward. I started looking at and trying to change and be changed by the Agreements before going for a walk. The kind of decision that shows the priorities are out of order.
I do get a walk (probably about 4.5 miles, same as yesterday), and I do work on the Agreements. Clean, in the studio, drinking my second pot of coffee, and writing this at about 11:30 am.

Studio Assessment
In a progressive future, there will be a link to a tour of the glass shop.
Derrick is back in the studio. Reball went to the vet, ongoing treatment for heartworm.
It’s the first of the month, I pay studio rent.

Quota math from this morning is pretty lame. Was +25 after Monday morning split. Got +275 in today’s split (quota is 500, that menas Tuesday’s split leaves me -225). -200 on the week. -1095, all dates.
On the one hand, this is understandable. On the other, obviously unacceptable.

I really made things difficult for myself yesterday by spending way too much time with eBay.
I figured out how to get the above italacized link text to be a thing. I work on the document that it links to, placing eBay customer feedback and photos on the page. I pack and ship one sale.

I have quite a lot I’d like to do here, but I need to let it go. Bids for the next three days are at retail, and honestly, that allows me to focus on myself for a couple of days, which is a good thing.
Etsy
The Zanfirico Harold Etsy page. You buy, I backpack.
My Etsy is dead. My last sale was on Tuesday last week. And nothing I’ll do today will help this situation at all. Lame but true.
I do have customer service issues. I’ve got a major ticket customer that I can’t confirm is happy. And a customer who received an item that they really loved and immediately broke it on the kitchen floor. I do the best I can in messages.
I give myself a speech about how everything is okay and I can move on with my life at about 1:30 pm.
Lampworking
In a progressive future, there will be a link to photograph history or plans or some shit.

3:15 pm back at studio. I had a difficult moment of anxiety about buying cigarettes at the gas station (today is day two, no smokes). I just tried to breathe and drive right on by. And I did. Drive right on by. And so did not toss the double size bag of my own human waste in the trash. I’m just driving around with it. Living with it. Until tomorrow afternoon.
10:20 pm, I’m not sure if I have quota in the kiln, but it’s close at least. Gasses are off, I’m done. It’s been a good day. No cigarettes. Lol, simple changes are so difficult. There is so much anxiety from nicotine addiction. It’s really quite stunning. A mini psychological horror thriller just for me.
Conclusion
You know, buddy, for only having two goals…
- Sell beads.
- Go backpacking..
… this is a complex situation.
Physical health first. Easy to say. Difficult to achieve.
One day at a time. Just like everyone else.
